Artist Statement

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, with professional training in academic drawing and painting. I studied at one of the top art universities.

However, over time, I realized that this naive, simplified style reflects my character much more honestly and, most importantly, it’s where I have the most fun.

In a way, it also feels like breaking the rules I spent years learning through academic art training. After years of being taught how I should draw and following those rules, I decided to simply do what I want.

I use simple drawings to explore thoughts, uncomfortable feelings, relationships, absurdity, humour, and all the things we sometimes struggle to put into words. There are so many of them happening in our lives and in the world around us.

You don’t have to like my work. But if something here makes you laugh, makes you think, makes you feel seen, or simply gives you a little relief, then my work has already done what I wanted it to do.
